Common questions

What families often ask us.

Every archive is different. These answers explain our usual starting point; the details are agreed with you before work begins.

Do we need everything organised first?

No. Start with what you have. We can discuss organising photographs, documents and stories as part of the project scope.

Can we preserve the story of someone who is living?

Yes. Capturing a person’s own voice and memories can be a meaningful part of a living legacy. Their permission and wishes guide the work.

Can an archive be private?

We will discuss the intended audience and access requirements before quoting. Privacy features must be agreed for each archive; this enquiry website does not store your archive materials.

How much does an archive cost?

Pricing depends on archive size, research, media volume, design requirements and production complexity. We provide a tailored quote after a consultation.

Do you work with families outside the UK?

We welcome enquiries from Nigeria, the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and African diaspora communities. Remote collaboration and any local production needs are discussed individually.

Who owns the material and how long is it hosted?

Ownership, permissions, domain registration, hosting duration, renewals and handover are agreed in writing. Please share only material you have permission to use.

What story would you like to preserve?

You do not need to have everything ready. Tell us what matters to you and what material you have.
